Reprocessing Department

A centralized area within a healthcare setting for cleaning, disinfection, and/or sterilization of medical equipment/devices. In community settings, any segregated area where reprocessing equipment/devices takes place, away from the patients and clean areas (e.g., Medical Device Reprocessing Department [MDRD]).
