SAP Tables on Difficult to Clean Instruments
“In 2005, Health Canada established a Scientific Advisory Panel on Reprocessing of Medical Devices (SAP-RMD). One of the major issues considered by the SAP-RMD was the reprocessing and reuse of single-use medical devices (SUDs) by health care facilities. The SAP-RMD submitted its final recommendations on the reuse of SUDs that were posted on Health Canada website in 2007. Although the SAP-RMD has completed its work and is now disbanded, and records of its proceedings are archived as per Health Canada Policy, the SAP-RMD recommendations continue to be of interest to policy makers in health care facilities. The Medical Devices Reprocessing concerns and Recommendations of the Scientific Advisory Panel on Reprocessing of Medical Devices (SAP-RMD) is posted here as a reference document. This does not represent the opinions or policies of Health Canada.”
